I want to tell you about our experience of learning from the books of the School of the Seven Dwarfs.

I learned about this “school” from a woman at work. She said that her daughter studied with her son in this program for literally five minutes a day and he grew up smart and smart beyond his age.

I was impressed by these stories and when I became pregnant, I bought a first-year course on ozone with confidence that I would study with my child :) but when I gave birth, I completely forgot about these classes, I started only at 3 weeks, which in principle is not so bad. I showed Sonya black and white pictures, then switched to color ones, the baby looked at them and... that’s it) how to understand whether the baby has learned something or not is unclear)

Then for some time I forgot about this whole matter again, but I don’t remember when the study continued, probably about six months. In addition, many books in the series are designed for children from 9-10 months, so we probably haven’t lost anything.

So, in total there are 12 books in the annual course:

Color pictures (b&w and color pictures for children up to six months)

Kitty-cat (rhymes)

Day and night (rhymes and songs on the theme of the characteristic features of the periods of the day)

My favorite toys (images of a rattle, a ball, a pyramid)

From the age of 6-7 months, I began regularly showing pictures to Sonya, telling her what was depicted, which animals spoke what, what the instruments sounded like, what the colors were called. For a long time there was no reaction at all, Sonya leafed through books without much interest, looked at me, listened, was quickly distracted, usually she had a face like “Mom, what do you need from me?”)). I also tried to tear books and lick and eat paper... But the other day I started to react. Laugh when I make animal noises, laugh when I look at pictures of animals doing something. She seems to be learning something, but can't express it yet. When I ask to show something, just like on our crumbs of Who Lives Where, I ask you to show me - it doesn’t show, it’s probably too early, as long as the information is somehow absorbed :)

As for the books themselves, not all are useful. I doubted whether to buy the next course, I think I will buy it, but not the whole set, but selectively. For example, joke books, cat-cat books are generally useless. We have a lot of cardboard books, from Anton’s childhood, where the same jokes and nursery rhymes are collected, and there are a lot of them on the Internet, in the same Azbukvarik application and a smartphone from the same company. There are good books about actions, the colors are useful, the shapes are good, yesterday the baby even gave me the figures so that I could insert them where needed :) but she didn’t understand exactly where to insert them. I didn’t like the merry round dance about toys, at least not yet.

I think that the program for the first year is not clear until the year that we will continue to work on them and will add more for the next year.

The book itself is quite simple: it depicts 12 objects that make some sounds. (doll, pipe, bell, drum, hammer, clock, plane, locomotive, scissors, steamship, car, telephone). Large pictures, nothing superfluous - just for the little ones.

My personal impression is that the selection of items was not very good. I would remove the bell (I consider it completely unnecessary, since few people have one in their house and why is it needed at all?), the plane and the steamboat (maybe, of course, the boys will be interested in such a quantity of transport, but somehow my daughter is not so interested). Instead, you can add some other items that are more common. And the phone is, of course, outdated... We don’t have a home phone at all, and both my husband and I have cell phones with a touch screen. That’s why my daughter doesn’t understand why I say phone number in this picture. Those. when I say phone-ding-ding-alo-alo, she brings me my phone, and does not associate my words with the picture. For all these comments I am removing one star.

Well, actually about our acquaintance with this book. I have already written a review about the book “My Favorite Toys”, where I described in detail how we tried to study at both 6 and 9 months. But my daughter only “grew up” to books with thin pages when she was 1 year and 3 months old. That’s when I took out the entire ShSG and the book “What does it sound like?” including. All of our cardboard books had already been “read” inside and out, so my child happily started working on the new book. She already speaks a lot of words and grasps everything on the fly. She likes these pictures, recognizes almost all objects and repeats almost all sounds. She always brings me this book. In general, a good book for expanding your vocabulary.

There is also a cardboard insert in the book: a screen and two toys. I didn't cut them out. I have put all the cardboard inserts (except for “Day and Night”) away for now - as she grows up she will glue it herself.
