The basis for the development of the military-industrial complex, which allows maintaining the growth of key performance indicators, is systematic work with personnel. The key task in this aspect is to attract qualified engineers in production areas closely related to the military-industrial complex.

Myth number 2. Only "golden youth" serve in scientific companies

If by “golden youth” we mean young people, “whose life and future, in the main, were arranged by their influential and high-ranking parents,” then this thesis, of course, is completely untrue. At the same time, the military personnel of scientific companies have one feature - they are all talented graduates of the best universities in the country. With me in the same conscription served natives of MAI, MIPT, MEPhI, MSTU im. Bauman and other serious technical universities - very talented and highly qualified engineers.

It is really difficult to get to serve in a research company, but only due to the high requirements for candidates (the following are the requirements for candidates for military service by conscription in the research company of the VUNC VVA Air Force "VVA"):

1. Male citizens of the Russian Federation, aged 19-27, who have not done military service.

Myth 3. Conscription service and scientific research are incompatible

As already noted, scientific companies are quite unusual military units. Based on the specifics of the scientific tasks facing the operators, they are provided with the maximum "army comfort".

Firstly, the operators do not live in barracks, but in a rather comfortable hostel. Each room, designed for four military personnel, has an LCD TV, two computer labs, two lounges (with drinking water, tea / coffee and fresh newspapers), a library, a sports corner with exercise equipment and showers are available for the needs of operators. The whole area is kept in perfect condition.

Secondly, in order to improve the efficiency of the operators of the scientific company within the framework of the research work carried out, each serviceman is assigned a scientific supervisor from among the scientific and pedagogical staff of the VUNC Air Force "VVA", who has a scientific degree, academic title and practical experience in performing scientific research. With each of the operators, an individual plan of scientific work for the year is drawn up, which reflects both the main areas of activity and key performance indicators, which are expressed in the number (and quality) of published scientific works, reports at scientific and practical conferences, software registration certificates, patents etc. Everything is extremely measurable and transparent.

Thirdly, the daily routine of the operator of a scientific company allows him to fully realize his scientific potential during a year of service. In my opinion, discipline has an extremely positive impact on the effectiveness of research activities. From Monday to Thursday, the daily routine in the department is as follows: in the morning - getting up, exercising, breakfast, morning examination and departure to the supervisors; at lunchtime - food intake and rest, after - continuation of work with scientific advisers; in the evening - individual or collective sports, dinner, rest (we usually watched a movie, read, continued to study in our scientific fields in computer classes), after 21:00 - an evening walk, check and hang up.

On Friday - the day of studying general military disciplines, on Saturday - the fleet-economic day and the opportunity to go on leave in accordance with the schedule, on Sunday - a day off and, again, the opportunity to go on leave.

As practice shows, such military time management has an extremely productive effect on self-organization and planning of scientific activities.

Myth number 4. It is impossible to achieve any significant results in science in a year

The approach to using the research potential of the military personnel of scientific companies is built in such a way that each newly arrived operator continues the research begun by his predecessor. The emphasis on continuity allows not to “reinvent the wheel”, but to focus on solving specific research problems under the auspices of the scientific advisor. Operators also carry out their research work within the framework of research and development of various categories, actively participate in conferences and scientific and technical competitions.

Among the areas of scientific research in which the operators of the scientific company of the Russian Air Force work, the most relevant are:

Since the creation of the scientific company of the Russian Air Force, its operators have published more than 200 articles in scientific journals and collections of scientific and practical conferences, more than 15 applications for the grant of patents for inventions have been filed, more than 35 software products and 45 rationalization proposals have been registered.

Myth number 5. Hazing and inadequate commanders

The notorious army "bullying", as well as low-skilled officers are a thing of the past. Almost all the officers with whom I had a chance to communicate during my service were actively involved in sports and led a healthy lifestyle (with a total dislike of bad habits), which set an example for many conscripts.

The command staff of the scientific company of the Russian Air Force was selected taking into account the specifics of the tasks facing the unit - all officers were research workers of the Air Force Academy, had experience of participating in scientific conferences and olympiads, among them were prize-winners of scientific research competitions and laureates of awards from the Government of the Russian Federation. Naturally, there could be no question of any assault or disrespectful attitude on the part of the officers to the conscripts. All communication was structured in an emphatically professional and respectful manner.

As for the relations between colleagues, the unit has a mentoring system - starting with the "course of a young soldier", senior conscripts help "junior" comrades in everything: they teach how to properly serve in a daily outfit, hem a collar, perform drill exercises and etc. In scientific terms, a similar supervision is carried out. Six months later, the junior conscription becomes the senior, and he himself helps the newly arrived children to delve into all the details of military service. The concept of "bullying" in the scientific company is completely absent. No incidents happened between my colleagues during my service - smart people will always find a way out of any conflict situation.

Myth number 6. Scientific companies are recruiting "botanists"

With the light hand of the media, this statement has become extremely popular today. In fact, of course, this is not the case. Many of the guys who served with me in the scientific company had sports categories, some were candidates for master of sports, including martial arts. Almost all during the service, one way or another, begin to accustom themselves to intense sports and significantly tighten their physical shape. Daily jogging, exercising and going to the gym all contribute to this.

Among other things, the servicemen of the scientific company, like other soldiers of the Russian army, serve in daily dress, go to shootings, and learn the necessary materials for military training. Service in a scientific company is not an alternative, but the most that neither is military service.

As for the recruitment directions, not only programmers served in our divisions. The scientific company of the Russian Air Force includes three platoons:

1. Platoon of modeling hydrometeorological processes and phenomena, separation of high and medium pressure air.

2. A platoon for the development and improvement of aircraft designs, aircraft engines, flight-navigation and radar systems.

3. Platoon of information technology, forecasting the development of software and hardware; electronic warfare against enemy means and assessing the decrease in visibility and protection information in the ACS.

Myth number 7. Military service is a "loss of a year of life"

Service in the army is different, with different tasks and opportunities that it provides to conscripts. In this regard, scientific companies are a unique personnel mechanism, thanks to which talented graduates of civilian universities can conclude a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense in order to continue scientific research after being conscripted to serve as an officer.

Students, starting from the second year, can design their professional trajectory, taking into account their further service in the Russian army: choose the appropriate directions for their coursework and diploma theses, and upon graduation from the university, go to serve in a research company, in order to become an officer of the armed strength and continue his scientific career in the development of the military-industrial complex. Taking into account the level of salaries of officers, as well as the conditions that are provided to servicemen, this direction today seems extremely promising.

On average, about 30% of each draft continues military service under contract.... The guys are assigned to various departments involved in scientific and applied research according to their profile. My fellow contractors are very happy and do not regret their choice.

Going back a year and a half ago, if they asked me if I would have made this choice again, knowing what the Russian army is, I would have answered “yes” without hesitation. The research company has recently become more than a popular place of service. Many young people are interested in the possibilities of enrolling in one. Indeed, the modern army needs not only soldiers, but also various specialists. And in particular - a narrow profile. So, the very concept of "scientific company" was formed by 2013. And the formation of those was confirmed by the corresponding order of the President. Where is the scientific company, and in what form are they presented?

The history of scientific mouths began in 2014, when 4 of them were formed. They appeared in Moscow and St. Petersburg, as well as in Krasnogorsk and Voronezh. The practice of the first years showed excellent results, and therefore the list of such entities began to expand. At the moment, there are more than a dozen of them, and in the future this number will only increase. After all, they justify themselves completely, becoming platforms that develop science for the needs of the army, precisely in those directions in which it is necessary. So in the future it is even possible to create a separate general structure of a larger scale based on the first companies.

Today, separate companies exist within the framework of different types of troops, solving their specific problems. So, in particular, there are 2 Air Force company, 3 Aerospace defense company. There is also a 5 company of ground forces, 6 - of the General Staff, 7 - communications, 8 - medicine. In addition, the 11th company of RCB protection is also represented. They are all scientific. Each company has separate platoons, each of which is engaged in solving specific tasks assigned to it.

What tasks does the scientific company solve?

Each research company has its own goals and objectives, as do the platoons. However, on the whole, all of them were created to solve a number of global problems. So, in particular, they must:

• To train personnel who are ready to engage in science in the field of the military industry or further scientific research for the needs of the defense complex;
• Work within the directions indicated by the armed forces, and solely in their interests;
• Solve applied tasks of a general or detailed nature, also in the interests of the RF Armed Forces.

Attracting personnel with appropriate education and serious potential in the field of science allows us to be even more active in the field of new developments and the creation of the latest equipment in those areas in which it is necessary.

So, in particular, the Air Force company is even working on the creation of schemes for new aircraft, as well as the equipment necessary for their successful operation. All the experience of the Russian army in this area helps young people. All the achievements of the past are revealed to them, on the basis of which they can work, introducing advanced solutions, revising everything taking into account the most modern scientific experience. Young professionals are provided with a solid foundation that makes their work interesting and productive. They receive knowledge and skills that they could not always have received in everyday life, outside the army.

Science and army

In the future, many of them have already moved into a peaceful life, where they turned out to be no less relevant and in demand. The army needs science and its advanced discoveries and achievements. And therefore it is quite natural to start the development of science in the military environment, making it adapted to the needs of the defense complex.

Considering all this, one can understand that scientific companies can really have a great future, because their achievements will always be in demand. Science within the framework of the army's requests will allow to be at the forefront of the latest developments, which in any case should be interesting for a young specialist.

Scientific companies and the opinion of the Ministry of Defense

The emergence of the scientific community was a rather sudden step and an unusual decision. However, representatives of the Ministry of Defense reacted to the novelty purely positively - like most other people. Nikolay Pankov, Deputy Minister of Defense, noted that such an innovation would contribute to bringing the Russian Army to the forefront of progress globally. And this applies to both the perfection of technology and the category, specialization, professionalism of the military.

It is also noted that scientific companies will not remain in their original form. They will change and progress. It is likely that in the future their organizational form will also change, and much more.

After all, from the very beginning there was an idea to create companies for conducting specific research in very narrow directions.

For example, this education in Voronezh was originally created purely in order to increase the efficiency of installations used in aviation. Also, the tasks included modeling new aircraft, and in the future - and protecting communications. Krasnogorsk soldiers - scientists create small-sized equipment necessary for space needs. However, with the solution of the tasks set, new ones come, and their number does not diminish. This creates optimal conditions for the further development of scientific companies, their improvement, entrusting them with new tasks, and setting new goals. To date, there are still few such companies, and the competition for a place in them is very large. Practice shows that many young people are willing to be in one of them. Scientific company No. 5 was formed on the basis of the Moscow Higher Combined Arms Command School and began its functioning
from July 1, 2014

Scientific companies are not regular military units.

Persons serving in a scientific company take the course of a young soldier and take the oath. The soldier is trained in the use of weapons and taught to fight. In parallel with military disciplines, students conduct research work in conjunction with academic advisors.

Physical

There are balanced loads in the training program for a scientific company. Gradually, the soldier will be able to pull himself up at least ten times. There are no specific physical requirements at the selection stage.

Education

The training is carried out for persons studying at technical universities.

Main specialties:

1. Physics and mathematics;
2. Programming;
3. Mechatronics;
4. Heat power engineering.

The same direction is associated with space industries and weapons, which are assigned to duty.

The minimum threshold is a third year student, but if a person with outstanding abilities and he is on the same level compared to university graduates

Medical board

As for persons with limited health, there is an exception. The main requirement is the B4 suitability category.

Scientific company tasks

Alexander, it is believed that the scientific company is an elite unit, which recruits exclusively "botanists" and "golden youth", and it is almost impossible for an ordinary graduate to get into. Is it really?

In 2010 I entered LETI at the Faculty of Electronics. After graduating from the bachelor's degree in the direction of "Electronics and Microelectronics", I continued my studies in the magistracy at the Department of Physical Electronics and Technology. While studying at the university, I tried to get into the military department of LETI, but to no avail: I passed the average score, passed the standards for physical training, but my health failed. As you know, for service in the Navy, you must have a category "A", and I had a category "B".

Returning after graduation to my hometown of Salavat (Republic of Bashkortostan), I decided to serve in the army. In the district military registration and enlistment office, I was offered to send the documents to the scientific company, since I had a higher technical education. I thought: "Why not?" Kirov, the Naval Academy named after Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union N.G. Kuznetsov and the Military Academy of Communications named after Marshal of the Soviet Union S.M. Budyonny.

The earliest response came from the Military Communications Academy. Despite the fact that my average score in specialized subjects was 4.33, that is, less than the required 4.5 points, I managed to show myself worthily at the interview and to achieve the right to serve in a scientific company. I believe that one of the positive factors was the internship at the Magneton Plant in St. Petersburg in a field close to the direction of the scientific company. I can say that the GPA is not a determining criterion. The selection committee takes into account the experience of work in the specialty and the presence of military personnel among relatives. Therefore, there is no need to be afraid! Many graduates are quite capable of getting into a research company.

- Army life is a barracks, outfits, guards ... And what is the life of the military personnel of a scientific company?

Usually, military units are located outside the city, and soldiers go to the forest or field for combat and tactical training. The living conditions of a scientific company are fundamentally different from what we are used to seeing in the army. A floor was allocated for us in the refurbished dormitory of the cadets of the Military Communications Academy, located within the city. We lived in quarters for 10 people, we had our own tea room and storage room, as well as showers and toilets. And everyone was given a personal laptop for scientific work. The conditions here were even better than in the student dormitories!

And what is the daily routine in the scientific company? How do you manage to combine military training with scientific research?

First, we studied the regulations, took a course of combined arms training. We spent three weeks in a military town, where we were taught the basics of military affairs. Then we returned to the academy and took the oath.

Then there was an interview, as a result of which we were assigned to three platoons - "antennas", "networkers" and programmers. I got into the first platoon, the core of which was made up of guys who were trained or have experience in the fields of electronics, energy and antennas.

The morning was the same as in ordinary troops: getting up at six in the morning, exercising, breakfast. And then, after the divorce, everyone worked with their supervisor from the research center or the departments of the academy. After lunch we were given one hour of free time, then there was another hour of study sessions, after which there was time for independent preparation and work on a scientific project.

In general, all organizational processes were worked out, so there were no problems. The officers treated us like junior researchers, so during my service I never faced assault or rudeness. Relations with colleagues were built on respect and professionalism.

There is an opinion that it is impossible to achieve any significant results in science in a year of service. Can you prove that this is not the case?

In the framework of the direction "Research of options for the use of virtual devices in the organization of an automated workstation (AWS) for the head of the laboratory" I was engaged in the creation of an AWP, which allows measurements using a personal computer with devices connected to it. I carried out the project in the LabView graphical programming environment. Of the entire company, I was the only one who had the skills to work in this environment.

The scientific infrastructure should be mentioned separately. The laboratories of the Military Communications Academy are equipped with the latest research equipment. I worked with a spectrum analyzer from Rohde & Schwarz, power meters and a power absorbed sensor. I also took part in setting up the hardware of various radio stations.

Every month we submitted a report on the work done to the supervisor, and at the end of the service life we ​​defended the final report before the certification commission, which consisted of the staff of the research center and the teachers of the departments. During my service, I have published six articles on the topic of my project. In addition, we regularly participated in scientific and technical conferences held at military universities and attended the St. Petersburg International Innovation Forum.
