Parents, sister and daughter of Rodionova E.N. live in Chelyabinsk, and his wife EugeneJurate - in the city of Novorossiysk.
On the day of his death, the Chelyabinsk resident Yevgeny Rodionov, the Hero of Russia, was only 30 years old. Hislife, in fact, was just beginning ...
Smart, kind, strong, gentle, hardy, courageous about such guys
all girls dream. But in life, alas, they are so rare. And in Zhenya all thisIt was. It was difficult with him, because in matters of principle he did not yield to anyspan. And it was easy with him: he could turn any awkward situation, disagreement intojoke. He loved friendly companies and did not like officialdom. Never whined, onlyused to say: "And who is it easy for?"
He was caring from childhood and learned responsibility early. According to my mother.
Lyubov Fedorovna, a man of rare soul, he raised his sister Lena. For Lena's brotherhas always been an authority and example.
Zhenya grew up as a lively and active boy, he loved noisy games and running around. That's why,When sending her son to first grade, my mother feared that she would often be called to school.
But Zhenya turned out to be serious beyond his years and left pranks on free time... Hereasoned like this: "You can play naughty at home, but you need to study at school."
My wife was lucky to have good teachers. Another first teacher, Lyudmila MikhailovnaVazhenina, saw his abilities and immediately understood Zhenin's character: you cannotraise your voice. He knew how to appreciate affection, study was easy - he loved both accurate andhumanitarian sciences. I read a lot, voraciously, inheriting this passion from my mother. AlreadyHaving matured, having started a family, he found time for books, snatching an hour or two from sleep.
Then, having entered the school, Zhenya confessed: "How little I know." Becameto study English independently and over the years of study he mastered it perfectly.
When the Americans came to Kaunas, where Zhenya was assigned, theywondered: where does such knowledge of the language come from?
He loved life in all its manifestations. Thoughtfully felt nature, was extremelykind to animals. I couldn't imagine myself without sports. Boxing for nine yearswas fond of oriental martial arts. There were always skates, skis, rapiers at home -easier to say what was not. In high school, he was the secretary of the Komsomolorganizations. He put his soul into every business, was a first-class organizer and an inventor.
“One thing he didn’t like,” his mother confesses, “to drink vodka.” It is understandable: when he loves so muchand understands life, why should he go into dreams?
From childhood, Lyubov Fedorovna taught her children honesty and decency.
And what was Zhenya's confusion when for the first time he faced a lie and
indifference: he was expelled from the Sverdlovsk Suvorov school, where he
I entered after the 8th grade, with the words "not suitable", without even looking at the documents.
His chin was trembling: how can you do that? And how to live on? After all, becomehe dreamed of a military man since childhood. From the age of 13 he studied at DOSAAF, by the end of the school
on his account there were more than a hundred parachute jumps ...
For a while, he lost his purpose in life. "What's happened?" - the teachers were perplexed.
He couldn't study.
Lyubov Fedorovna was always afraid of losing her son. But, hoping in his heart that Zhenya is notwill go to military school, calmed and supported him. From RyazanVVDKU, where he submitted documents, all his fellow countrymen who entered afterschools. Except for Zhenya.
After graduating from college, Zhenya had the opportunity to make a brilliant career.
He could remain a teacher at the school or become one of the four graduatespersonal bodyguard of M.S. Gorbachev. But he chose the third.
"I was appointed" Vanka platoon commander, "he wrote to his mother and was incredibly happy about this.
“You have to start from the bottom,” he used to say. His sister Elena was brought up in the same way:
after graduating from school with a gold medal, she went to a medical school, graduated from it, nowfinishes his studies at the Medical Academy ...
First, after graduating from college, Zhenya was going to enter the Academy,
but chose to serve in the army. Already in Kaunas, I wrote an application to sendvolunteered him to Afghanistan. At this time, he received a call to study at the Academy, but he postponed his studies until better times.
One hot spot after another flared up in the country: Nagorno-Karabakh, Abkhazia,North Ossetia. And this means the paratroopers are ahead, and the reconnaissance is ahead of the paratroopers.
Evgeny Rodionov was a scout.
Lyubov Fedorovna Zhenya gently shore. Only by accidentally dropped phrases sheI understood: I was somewhere again. And he kept joking: “Yes, I was here in one place, warming myselfin the southern sun ".
Speaking about the fact that his mother would never read about him in Krasnaya Zvezda, Zhenya wasright: they don't write about the special forces or the paratroopers in the newspapers. After all, he was highly proprofessional scout. His call sign was Truth. And for a whole year the Dudayevitesunsuccessfully chasing the elusive "Truth." What kind of newspapers are there.
But Zhenya was wrong. Once, having opened the "Red Star", Lyubov Fedorovna saw andson's name. It was a story about the absolutely fantastic courage of 16 paratroopers, opposing 600 Dudayev militants near Shatoi. Talking about the feat of ourfighters, correspondent Nikolai Starodymov named all 16 names, includingthe name of the intelligence officer Yevgeny Nikolaevich Rodionov.
An excerpt from a newspaper article about the feat of the paratroopers near Shatoi:
“... The long-awaited help did not come to the Dudayevites - it did not break through. Stood in her waya handful of heroes. It was hard for them. The main forces of the paratroopers were thrown to capture Shatoi, there they were waiting for the mainevents. And only in order to insure himself from the flank, to the area of the tractRazdolnoe ... they landed a small group - to saddle the dirt road ...the first minutes, a desperate one broke out. According to incomplete data, the group was attacked byblow of at least six hundred well-armed militants ...group of ammunition by helicopters - it did not work: the first car was fired on
in the air and collapsed into the forest. Help went to the ground - seventeen people for three
combat vehicles.
The breakout group was led by officers Alexei Lagoda, Igor Kirichenko, Evgeny
Rodionov. The soldiers are mostly raw novices. The fight was terrible, but theybroke through. Then they simultaneously unloaded ammunition and fought off the advancing Dudaevtsev.
Unable to prevent the unification of the two groups, the militants soon weakened their pressure.
At the same time, they suffered considerable losses. At the captured base, the paratroopers took
trophies - weapons were literally piled up ...
Shatoi himself was taken with little blood and almost without destruction ... "
So Lyubov Fedorovna found out that her son was in Chechnya. All 16 of Shatoy's heroes were
presented for the highest military award - the title of Hero of Russia. But Zhenya did not livebefore the decree of the President. The title of Hero was awarded to him posthumously.
He died two months after these events, when his reconnaissance group carried outthe next task.
“There was an unnatural eerie silence, the guys say, he jumped from
armor first. Behind him are three comrades. A powerful explosion shook the silence. And that's all
four stepped into immortality ... "
And an entry appeared in the combat log: “01/05/96 at 15.20 in the area
in the village of Shatoi, a reconnaissance platoon column was ambushed. V
21.30 the personnel of the reconnaissance platoon finished the battle. During the battle, it was destroyed before
8-10 fighters. The losses of the reconnaissance platoon were: killed - Major Yevgeny Rodionov
Nikolaevich, senior lieutenant Gnyp Viktor Nikolaevich, privates Aniskin AndreyAnatolyevich, Shimakin Victor Gennadievich ... "
The death of Major Rodionov and his subordinates shook them to the core
colleagues.
In life, Eugene was generally lucky to have good people. Except smart, kind, understanding mother, tenderly loving sister, faithful wife who shared everything with himhardships of an officer's life, he had wonderful teachers, friends, neighbors. Zhenya nathere was enough of all. For him, the company was one family. He knew everyone not only by name, but also who lives where, what is happening in everyone's soul and at home. He was responsive to everyonenever divided people by ranks.
For all these people, someone else's grief became their own. From different parts of the country to Zheninythe funeral was attended by fellow students, colleagues. Commander of the Airborne Forces G.I.Shpakpersonally ordered the allocation of an aircraft for the delivery of the bodies of the four victims.
The Chelyabinsk Tank School provided a guard and a brass band. Lots ofpeople, familiar and unfamiliar, responded to someone else's grief.
The commander of the 108th Guards parachute sent his letter to Yevgeny's parents -of the airborne regiment of the guard, Lieutenant Colonel I. Dmitrik, in which he spoke aboutthe circumstances of the death of Major E.N. Rodionov. and expressed condolences to the parentsboth on my own behalf and on behalf of all servicemen of the regiment. School 68 teacherswhich Evgeny studied, they offered Lyubov Fedorovna to organize a funeral fromschools. And how much participation, warmth was shown by the director Zoya Ivanovna Fedorova ...I know what I would do without them, ”Evgenia’s mother wondered.
And the neighbors at the entrance? When his friends came to bury Zhenya, the neighbors, who could, took the guys to the post. Of course, Lyubov Fedorovna also metindifference, but there were immeasurably more of those who offered their shoulders.
In December 1996, the newspaper Chelyabinsk Rabochy published an article by LydiaStarikova about Evgeny Rodionov "Do you know what a guy he was!", Excerpts fromwhich we used in the pages of the Book of Memory.
On the obelisk of Yevgeny Rodionov, his call sign is engraved - "Truth". And this is a symbol
personally. He was a true citizen of Russia, a real person.
Many, remembering Zhenya, write that for some reason death chooses the best.
This is probably also an immutable truth. Such people do not hide behind their backs. They
noble. And the bullets, as you know, hit those who are the first to meet on their
crazy way. Yevgeny Rodionov was one of those in the lead.
Rest in peace to him, the Ural land ...
Your name, Eugene, should and, we think, will
live forever in our memory and in our hearts. IN THAT MIG
The moment they kill me

Betrayal and lies
And the birds of life will sing
In my soul ... And all the same,
When I, too, burned out with a candle,
I will disappear into the dead darkness
It cannot be that, as it were, in vain
Sang songs on the ground
And people, to the light are deaf,
Forgive to forget
My disturbing verses ...
No, no, it can't be!

Lyubov Fedorovna Rodionova, mother of the Hero of Russia, Chelyabinsk resident Yevgeny Nikolaevich Rodionov, turned to the Human Rights Ombudsman in the Chelyabinsk Region with a request to help correct the mistakes made by the media.

His callsign is "TRUE". This is the headline from the eighth page of "Vecherny Chelyabinsk" dated November 1, 2007 about a Chelyabinsk citizen, Hero of Russia, Evgeny Rodionov, or rather about Evgeny Nikolaevich, a major, paratrooper, chief of reconnaissance of an airborne regiment, who died on January 5, 1996 on the territory of the Chechen Republic in battle. To the title of Hero of Russia, E.N. Rodionov was presented for the famous battle near Shatoi, which took place at the end of 1995.

From 1987 to 1989 he served and fought in Afghanistan. On the territory of the Chechen Republic, E.N. Rodionov won a full 97 days as the chief of intelligence of the 108th Guards Parachute Regiment and died.

When on September 3, 2013 at Lyubov Fedorovna, Evgeny's mother, countless acquaintances and friends began to ask whether it was true that they were going to erect a monument to her son in Chelyabinsk and whether there was a mistake, she was both pleasantly surprised and puzzled. I went, got the "Komsomolskaya Pravda" dated September 3, 2013 and found the same material on the 4th page. About the monument. Rodionov. Eugene. To the deceased in 1996. But the article dealt with the monument to ANOTHER Yevgeny Rodionov.

Evgeny Alexandrovich Rodionov - a native of the village of Chibirley, Kuznetsk region Penza region... He was called up to serve in the border troops in 1995. In January 1996 he was sent to North Caucasus... In February 1996, during a search on the administrative border of the Chechen and Ingush republics, an ambulance car, in which, as it turned out, there were militants, a battle ensued, during which Yevgeny Rodionov and three colleagues were taken prisoner.

Eugene was in captivity for 100 days. Seeing the soldier's pectoral cross, the militants suggested that he renounce Orthodoxy and convert to Islam. Rodionov rejected the terms of the militants. On May 23, on Yevgeny's birthday, he was executed along with three colleagues.

Lyubov Fedorovna was not amazed that the callers had messed up everything. In memory, since November 2010, an unhealed wound from the fact that an essay about her son Yevgeny Nikolaevich was placed in the "South Ural Panorama", accompanied by a photograph of Yevgeny Alexandrovich.

The Hero's mother was struck by the readiness with which the City Administration began to look for a place for a monument to the namesake and namesake of her son from the Penza region, when in order to name the street in Chelyabinsk in the name of her son, the Hero of Chelyabinsk, she had to leave for almost ten years. Then there were three of us, with Elena Yakovleva and Svetlana Kislova. The decision was made, but neither the mothers of the Heroes, nor the widow had any thoughts to demand that monuments be installed in the city limits to their dead relatives. And the merits of the Hero of Russia from Chelyabinsk Alexander Yakovlev, a private conscript who died on the territory of the Chechen Republic in March 1996, and Hero of Russia, Chelyabinsk, Colonel Sergei Kislov, like E.N. Rodionov, are quite enough.

In battles, the first Chechen war Since April 1995, Private Alexander Yakovlev has been a gunner-operator of an infantry fighting vehicle. When militants broke through to Grozny on March 8, 1996, an infantry fighting vehicle was ambushed by militants and was knocked out by a grenade launcher. Private Yakovlev received a concussion. However, he immediately returned fire and destroyed 4 enemy firing points. Such a decisive rebuff caused the confusion of the militants, thanks to which the soldiers stationed on the armor were able to take up the defensive and take the battle. Alexander Yakovlev himself continued to fire from a burning infantry fighting vehicle at the enemy and left it, only having shot all the ammunition. However, immediately after he managed to get out, the BMP exploded. The brave fighter received a new concussion and wounds. When he woke up, he found himself surrounded by militants. He joined the militants who were trying to capture him in hand-to-hand combat, in which he managed to destroy two Dudayevites and seize their weapons. For about half an hour he fought with captured weapons. At the next attempt by the militants to capture the soldier, he died in hand-to-hand combat. This was his 342nd combat day.

On May 17, 2001, Colonel Kislov carried out another operation to identify and detain the leaders of the gangs who were looking for shelter in the Kurchaloevsky region. The column of the commandant's company drove to the central street of the Oktyabrskoye village. The servicemen immediately noticed the "kopeck" in which four young men were clearly tracking the convoy. The commandant decided to search the car. Together with the task force, he began checking the documents. At this time, a car with tinted windows slowed down nearby. Colonel Kislov with several subordinates went to her. A few meters remained before the car, when the car door flew open and an unknown person jumped out from the front seat with a Stechkin pistol in his hand. And immediately shots rang out. The bandit was aiming at the commandant. The first bullet was taken by a bulletproof vest, two others seriously wounded the officer. Kislov's weakening hand did not flinch. The second bandit, who jumped out with a machine gun, was overwhelmed by the colonel's subordinates.

Sergei Kislov did not yet know that at the cost of his life he destroyed one of Khattab's associates - Abu Darr. Arab mercenary from the extremist organization "Al - Haramein". At one time, he was considered a close friend of Arbi Barayev, joined the Khattab detachment. It was Abu-Darr who commanded the militants near Ulus-Kert, where in March 2000, at an altitude of 705.6, the 6th company of Pskov paratroopers died. In June 2000, he organized the defense of the Serzhen-Yurt settlement in the Shali region. Where, with a detachment of Arabs, he was surrounded. After a week of fighting with a group of militants, he broke into the mountains, where he then commanded a large detachment of Khattab's 500 bayonets. In 2001, he was in charge of sabotage and terrorist activities in Grozny, Shalinsky and Kurchaloyevsky districts. In March in locality October, Abu Darr's militants shot 11 people, including the deputy head of the administration. But he did not manage to escape retribution. The investigators found a large number of documents on the killed mercenary. Among them were the redone documents of a special forces officer who died in action in April 2001. Khattab himself, who goes on radio only on emergency occasions, went on the air several times, demanding confirmation of the death of an associate in bandit attacks.

We do not know how easily and quickly the decision on the monument to private Yevgeny Alexandrovich Rodionov was made. It is only generally known what we have read: “There is a strict order in such things,” explained the head of the culture department Viktor Ereklintsev. - All proposals are considered by experts, historians, culturologists, architects. The Victory Garden is overloaded with objects…. When we offer another place, this does not mean that we refuse. We suggest choosing other worthy points where the monument can be erected. The city center is generally congested, but there are new areas. They also need iconic places. We will decide. "

For the mothers of our Heroes, the main thing is not a monument. A MEMORY. AND PREVENTION OF ITS DISTORTION. This is what is very important for mothers, but most important of all - for posterity. It was with this request that Lyubov Fedorovna turned to the Ombudsman for Human Rights in the Chelyabinsk Region.

I am publishing this material with a huge request for funds. mass media to be attentive and professional in their work, as well as to public authorities, heads of pedagogical and sports organizations involved in patriotic education, to prevent similar mistakes in the future. They are very expensive, bringing moral suffering to the relatives and friends of our Heroes.
