Cossack confessors / military priests / 09/26/2018

Dear in our Lord Jesus Christ,

Lord atamans, honorable fathers,

Cossacks and Cossacks, brothers and sisters!

We sincerely congratulate you on the great twelveth feast of the Exaltation of the Honorable and Life-giving Cross of the Lord.

On this day, all Orthodox Christians glorify and deeply venerate the Calvary Cross as an instrument for the salvation of mankind, on which the Lord Jesus Christ endured the greatest sufferings for us.

From the baptismal font we wear a cross on our chest, as a sign of Christ's victory and our protection and strength. With the sign of the cross, we begin and end every good deed, every day. We make the sign of the cross over our loved ones, food before eating it, things dear to us, our homes, office places.

Saint Demetrius of Rostov spoke about the celebration of the Exaltation of the Life-giving Cross of the Lord: “ For this, the Church erects the Cross of Christ, so that, fighting with this banner, you conquer your enemies. For even the warriors of the king of the earth, when they hold on to the military banner, are better off against enemies, and the warrior who moves away from him, rather perishes» .

Unfortunately, today not all Orthodox Christians wear the pectoral cross, although the veneration of the Lord's Cross goes back to the first centuries of Christianity. From church history we know that the Equal-to-the-Apostles Emperor Constantine, under whom the great Christian shrines - the Holy Sepulcher and the Life-giving Cross were recovered, having won three wars over the enemies, before the decisive battle with Licinius saw God's sign in heaven - the Cross with the inscription "Sim win. "

On this day, we wish all our soldiers, Cossacks and laity to remember that the cross is our greatest sacred object, our spiritual all-conquering sword. Christ made the Cross for us by his death and by his sufferings on it for the sake of our salvation.

The church charter prescribes strict fasting on the day of the Exaltation of the Cross, since the veneration of the Cross also consists in the pacification of the flesh.

May the Merciful Lord strengthen all of us with the invincible and Divine power of the Honest and Life-Giving Cross, and may he help everyone worthily bear his cross, his service: military, church or worldly.

An excerpt characterizing the Central Cossack army

- But because I created it! - the girl chirped even more cheerfully.
I opened my mouth in dumbfoundedness, but I could not say anything ... I felt that she was telling the truth, but I could not even imagine how this could be created, all the more, speaking about it so carelessly and easily ...
- Grandma likes it too. - Enough said the girl.
And I realized that she calls “grandmother” the same unusual old woman with whom I had just talked so sweetly and who, like her no less unusual granddaughter, put me into a real shock ...
"Are you all alone here?" I asked.
- When how ... - the girl became sad.
- Why don't you call your friends?
“I don’t have them…” the baby whispered quite sadly.
I didn’t know what to say, afraid to upset this strange, lonely and so cute creature even more.
- Do you want to watch something else? - as if waking up from sad thoughts, she asked.
I just nodded in response, deciding to leave the conversation to her, since I did not know what else could upset her and did not want to try it at all.
- Look, it was yesterday - Stella said more cheerfully.
And the world turned upside down ... The Crystal City disappeared, and instead some kind of "southern" landscape blazed with bright colors ... My throat caught in surprise.
- And is that you too? .. - I asked cautiously.
She nodded proudly with her curly red head. It was very funny to watch her, as the girl was really seriously proud of what she had managed to create. And who wouldn't be proud ?! She was a perfect baby who, laughing, in between times, created new incredible worlds for herself, and immediately replaced those that were boring with others, like gloves ... To be honest, there was something to shock. I tried to understand what is happening here? .. Stella was clearly dead, and her essence communicated with me all this time. But where we were and how she created these "worlds" of hers, so far it was a complete mystery to me.
- Don't you understand something? - the girl was surprised.
- To be honest - how! - I exclaimed frankly.
- But you can do much more? - the baby was even more surprised.
- More? .. - I asked dumbfounded.
She nodded, tilting her red head comically to one side.
- Who showed you all this? - cautiously, fearing to offend her with something, I asked.
- Well, of course, grandmother. - As if something self-evident she said. - In the beginning I was very sad and lonely, and my grandmother felt very sorry for me. So she showed me how to do it.
And then I finally realized that it really was her world, created only by the power of her thoughts. This girl didn't even realize what a treasure she was! But my grandmother, I think, just understood this very well ...
As it turned out, Stella died a few months ago in a car accident, in which her entire family also died. Only the grandmother remained, for whom that time there was simply no place in the car ... And who almost went mad after learning about her terrible, irreparable misfortune. But, what was the strangest thing, Stella did not get, as everyone usually did, to the same levels that her family was in. Her body possessed a high essence, which after death went to the most high levels Earth. And thus the girl was left completely alone, since her mother, father and older brother were apparently the most ordinary, ordinary people who did not differ in any special talents.
“Why don’t you find someone here, where you live now?” I asked cautiously again.
- I found ... But they are all kind of old and serious ... not like you and me. - Thoughtfully whispered the little girl.
Suddenly she suddenly smiled cheerfully and her cute little face immediately shone with a bright bright sun.
- Do you want me to show you how to do it?
I just nodded in agreement, very afraid that she would change her mind. But the little girl was clearly not going to "change her mind", on the contrary - she was very glad to find someone who was almost her age, and now, if I understood something, she was not going to let me go so easily ... This " perspective "completely satisfied me, and I prepared to listen carefully about her incredible miracles ...
“Everything is much easier here than on Earth,” Stella chirped, very pleased with the attention paid, “you should just forget about that“ level ”at which you still live (!) And focus on what you want to see ... Try to imagine very accurately, and it will come.
I tried to disconnect from all extraneous thoughts - it didn't work. For some reason it was always difficult for me.
Then, finally, everything disappeared somewhere, and I was left hanging in complete emptiness ... There was a feeling of Complete Peace, so rich in its fullness, which it was impossible to experience on Earth ... Then the emptiness began to fill with a fog sparkling with all the colors of the rainbow, which is more and more and more condensed, becoming like a shiny and very dense ball of stars ... Smoothly and slowly, this "ball" began to unravel and grow until it became similar to a gigantic sparkling spiral of stunning beauty, the end of which was "sprayed" by thousands of stars and went where something into the invisible distance ... I was dumbfounded looking at this fabulous unearthly beauty, trying to understand how and where did it come from? I could not get rid of the very strange feeling that this is exactly my real home ...
- What about this? .. - a thin voice asked in a stunned whisper.
Stella stood “frozen” in a stupor, unable to make even the slightest movement and with eyes rounded like large saucers, watched this incredible beauty that had suddenly fallen from somewhere ...
Suddenly the air around us shook violently, and a luminous creature appeared in front of us. It looked a lot like my old "crowned" star friend, but it was clearly someone else. Having recovered from the shock and looked at him more closely, I realized that he did not look like my old friends at all. Just the first impression "fixed" the same hoop on the forehead and similar power, but otherwise there was nothing in common between them. All the "guests" who had come to me before were tall, but this creature was very tall, probably somewhere around as much as five meters. His strange sparkling clothes (if they could be called that) fluttered all the time, scattering sparkling crystal tails behind them, although not the slightest breeze was felt around. Long, silver hair shone with a strange moon halo, creating the impression of "eternal cold" around his head ... And the eyes were the kind that it would never have been better to look at! .. Before I saw them, it was impossible even in the wildest imagination imagine such eyes! .. They were incredibly bright pink and sparkled with a thousand diamond stars, as if lighting up every time he looked at someone. It was completely unusual and incredibly beautiful ...
It smelled mysterious distant space and something else that my little child's brain was not yet able to comprehend ...
The creature raised its hand, unfolded towards us, and mentally said:
“I’m Eley. You are not ready to come - come back ...
Naturally, I was immediately wildly interested in who it was, and I really wanted to somehow keep him, at least for a short time.
- Not ready for what? I asked as calmly as I could.
- Come back home. - He answered.
From him emanated (as it seemed to me then) incredible power and at the same time some strange deep warmth of loneliness. I wanted him to never leave, and suddenly it became so sad that tears came to my eyes ...
“You will come back,” he said, as if answering my sad thoughts. - Only it won't be soon ... Now go away.
The glow around him became brighter ... and, to my great chagrin, he disappeared ...
The sparkling huge "spiral" continued to shine for some time, and then began to crumble and completely melted, leaving behind only a deep night.
Stella finally "woke up" from shock, and everything around immediately began to shine with cheerful light, surrounding us with bizarre flowers and colorful birds, which her amazing imagination hastened to quickly create, apparently wanting to get rid of the oppressive impression of eternity that had fallen on us as soon as possible.
- Do you think it's me? .. - Still unable to believe what happened, I whispered in shock.
- Certainly! - the baby chirped again in a cheerful voice. - This is what you wanted, right? It is so huge and scary, albeit very beautiful. I would never have stayed there! - she declared with full confidence.
And I could not forget that incredibly huge and such attractively stately beauty, which, now I knew for sure, would forever become my dream, and the desire to return there one day would haunt me for many, many years, until, one fine day, I will not finally find my real, lost HOME ...
- Why are you sad? You did so great! - Stella exclaimed in surprise. - Do you want me to show you something else?
She conspiratorially wrinkled her nose, which made her look like a cute, funny little monkey.
And again everything turned upside down, "landing" us in some crazy-bright "parrot" world ... in which thousands of birds were screaming wildly and the head was spinning from this abnormal cacophony.
- Ouch! - Stella laughed loudly, - not so!
And immediately there was a pleasant silence ... We were "naughty" together for a long time, now alternately creating funny, funny, fabulous worlds, which really turned out to be quite easy. I could not tear myself away from all this unearthly beauty and from the crystal-clear, amazing girl Stella, who carried a warm and joyful light, and with whom I sincerely wanted to stay close forever ...

Anthem of the military Cossack society "Central Cossack Host"
Author - Alexey Melikhov

Remember these words ...
The Cossack is alive - and Russia is alive!
In the very center by the ancient river
The Cossacks gathered at the Circle.

Chorus:
Our thoughts are crystal clear
Our goals are real today
Get together, sons of Russia,
In our army, the Cossack Central.

No, we do not need to wave a saber,
And to raise Russia from its knees!
Our Homeland is being torn to pieces
And hope for you, Cossacks.

Orthodoxy strengthens the spirit,
We are waiting for you, atamans on the Circle
And when we come to repentance,
Then we will save Russia too!
